Dear PMA Moose Association,
I wanted to provide a summary of tonight’s presentation of the braille flag at our local Coatesville VA home. The event was well attended by local lodge leadership from Lodge 297, and PMA President Billy Doc delivered an outstanding speech that was met with a loud and well-deserved round of applause, not so much for myself. But I felt I set Billy up for success
We were mindful not to disrupt Ice Cream Night, which was underway for the 15–20 veterans in attendance, so the presentation was kept respectful and brief to preserve the evening’s atmosphere. The many veterans enjoyed as Lodge 297 PP Chris Monko walked around so the Vets could hold and touch the flag. We plan to share photographs from the event as soon as they are cleared by the VA. (Confidentialty)
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped coordinate the presentation especially Lodge 297 president Dale Habowski. Please let me know if you would like any additional details or a formal write-up for your records. I can speak for me personally it was a very happy time to spend time with our vets and sad for some of the conditions of our veterans. I believe we as the moose made a very impactful moment and well served in delaying there ice cream night and we’re happy we came for a visit.
Best regards,
Jim Acker
