What makes the PMA so great is the membership and the great
things the membership does. Here is a place to spotlight these
things and the members doing them.

Lewistown FC 143 has a Relay for Life team and this past June we had our RFL 24 hour walk/campout
to help stomp out cancer. Well for two years in a row our team took first place with the most donations.
This year $14,200 plus dollars was raised. (beating last years total by +/- $100).

Bedford Family Center #480 delivers another load of Tommy Moose's to the Emergency Room at the Bedford Memorial Hospital. What made this delivery more entertaining and exciting as usual to the staff is that the "Real Tommy Moose" helped with the delivery. The Emergency Room staff really like having the Tommy Moose's around to help calm the small children that come in.

While attending "PMA Days" District 15 Pres. Bill Lennert asked Mooseheart Director, Scott Hart if there was any thing that was needed at Penn Hall, and he said one of the items requested was a dishwasher. "We started to work on how we as a District in the PMA could complete this task that evening." Pictured with the check from District 15 to purchase a dishwasher are (L-R) Past D15 Pres. North Hills Lodge 46 held a Car Cruise on Labor Day weekend. As District 12 President I thought it would be a great idea to support an event held by one of our lodges. My wife and I had a great time and want to thank the lodge for all their hard work. Click on the photo to go to the Photo Gallery to see more pictures of the Car Cruise.

Thank you
Paul Barvinchak, Jr.
District 12 President

Last evening I had the pleasure to attend the "Preferred Members" Dinner at Steelton # 382. I had been invited by the Board of Officers to speak on membership production and retention. I estimate 50 members were in attendance , ( somewhat short of their goal ) but a huge success and many happy members in attendance. I spoke with every member one on one and they all said they hope that the lodge continues to do things like this because they enjoyed it so much. The food was outstanding, with stuffed chicken breast , roast beef, crab legs, giant shrimp and all of the other goodies. I couldn't eat dessert I was so full. Karaoke/ DJ was the entertainment and that was fun (Larry Keefe needs to let his wife be the singer in the family)and should stick to being Governor, but that was part of the fun and fellowship we all shared. I wanted to let everyone know of this on behalf of the Steelton group because I saw a tremendous amount of effort put into this dinner so everyone could feel fraternal and be proud to sponsor members. WAY TO GO #382 and where are my leftovers you promised?

Fraternally,
Michael Henry
D5 President
Congratulations to Uniontown, PA Lodge 20 !! An application sponsored by your Lodge member Ken L. Rusko, was randomly drawn as one of the two weekly winners for Lodges or Chapters to receive a $500.00 check.

These funds may be used as the Lodge sees fit. You can host a party, pay bills, add to savings, or even make a donation to Moose Charities. As with all Lodge funds, how it is utilized must be approved by the membership.

Remember, these drawings occur weekly through May 6, 2010. Every new or former member application transmitted by your Lodge, and accepted at Moose International, is another chance to win additional $500.00 checks in each of the remaining drawings.

Thanks for your Lodge’s efforts to build the membership and financial strength of our Order!
